Awkward

First post back after almost a year... so much pressure! I think the most pressure about a style blog is the pictures. It might be the most awkward thing to do. The neighbor kids were peeking over the fence asking to play with my dog and then asking me why I was in heels taking pictures in my backyard.. Therefore my pictures in front of a wall... still awkward. This will take some getting used, to but I'm up for the challenge.

So I'll try and be completely honest with whoever is out there reading this blog. I wear tights for pants... ok it’s out there. If you come over to my house I am most likely in a pair of Target tights, I work out in them, I clean in them, I sleep in them. Ok yea I mostly sleep in them but you get the point. I love tights. With that confession I feel the need to include a disclaimer. (The tights that I am referring to are in no way shape or form see-through- see not that bad right?) Judge me if you want. My love for tights has brought me to an even better relationship with skinny black pants. I look for them everywhere. This pair I scored from Khols for $8! Now you know my love for black pants I feel the need to share my love for anything black and white with red lipstick! Also these bangs are only a week old so I am still experimenting with new hair styles. This one features dirty hair. One of my favs!

Ready or Not!

I think it is time to admit that I have failed at the 30 for 30... Although I did make it farther than 14 outfits I did not make the time to post them or take pictures for that matter. I will also admit that I did not realize how much work does into make a blog work! With that being said I am ready to start blogging again. Here's a look back at the past month that you missed!
This is my little Family! Me Ryan and Betsie...
I think she is still upset with me because I got her hair trimmed a little short! (this is an 30 for 30 outfit... I'm counting it as my #15 so I have officially completed half of the challenge! woop woop)

Christmas Sunday has always been a big deal in our family. It goes without saying that you have to wear not only your "Sunday Best" but it better be festive! And don't even think about changing when we get home until we have taken the popular "stand in front of the bushes outside for a picture" picture. You can bet after this we all headed inside for our "play clothes" (since I was little we have always called the clothes that you put on after church your "play clothes" and still at 24 I still call them that.)
This is my younger sister Kelsey and her fiance Hunter. They got engaged on New Years Eve. He didn't tell me. He is in trouble. I was in New Orleans and didn't get to see her or the ring for a week. Not cool Hunter not cool. On a lighter note I am so happy for them! The planning has already started and she has a blog too so everyone should go and check it out!! www.duren-swanzy-wedding.blogspot.com

For New Years we went to New Orleans, which is quickly becoming our home away from home, with a few friends to bring in the New Year! It was a blast as usual. I love New Orleans for many reasons but Magazine Street is starting to rank as my #1! Since me and Ryan live in a small town we love being in a larger city. I love being able to walk down a street and there be little boutiques and vintage clothing and thrift stores. Or different kinds of cafe's and restaurants. Magazine Street is one of my favorite areas of New Orleans. Jean Therapy is one of my favorite little boutiques. They carry great jeans and tops but they have unique New Orleans Saints T-shirts that are so great! You will not find any other T's like this and they also carry men's which means Ryan can shop too... SCORE!
The Funky Monkey is another great shop! This vintage clothing/ costume store has already picked through the clothes that your grandmother would wear and only offer the best in vintage/thrift store goods! The costume part of the store is great to look through too. I found two great little dresses for about $20 a piece which was a steal! I'm sure you will see them pop up on here sooner or later.
Ok so I might get a few weird looks for posting Whole Foods on my list of favorite things in New Orleans/ Magazine Street but Oh My Goodness I have never been in a Whole foods before and I just wanted to start grabbing all those fresh ingredients right off the shelf and start cooking up a storm! Which would have been terrible because our hotel room didn't even have a micro wave but hey I wanted to! Instead I grabbed some sushi which made up for me not being able to take advantage of all the other greatness in the store. Sushi usually does that to me!
I have noticed that this is getting to be an extremely LONG post but hey I haven't posted in  week.
Lebanon Cafe is where we ate our last night there. We almost didn't go. I am so glad that we did. I have never had Lebanese food before which includes Hummus. It was so great! Hummus is a permanent item now in our fridge... along with some whole wheat pita bread it makes for a great low calorie snack/meal.

I had heard about Pinkberry before, so when the girls at dinner mentioned going there after for some frozen yogurt I was so excited. I am not sure if I can put into words how great Pinkberry is! I had the original with some fresh fruit. Pomegranate, raspberries, and strawberries. It was absolutely out of this world! If you have not tasted it and have the chance to... DO IT!

Well there you go. You are now up to date on my non-posting month! I can not promise that I will post every day... but I promise to try harder than I have been to keeping this blog up to date.
Happy 1-11-11!

14 of 30

This is another bargain shirt that I bought in Dallas last year when I was there for New Years. Its from Forever 21 (I'm starting to feel like the spokeswomen for them!) but I have never seen a Forever 21 this big in my life! I will take a minute for everyone to make fun of the country girl... ok that's long enough. Seriously though my friend and I walked by and started drooling at the two story store filled with all the cheaply made clothes a girl could ask for! This of course turned our husbands into immediate zombies looking for the nearest bench! Well that was a useless story about this shirt. One more outfit and I'm half way there!! I'm feeling a little overwhelmed but I promise to finish strong!!

Happy Hump Day People!!

11, 12, and 13

Well it finally feels like Winter in South Mississippi! Which is why all of my pictures are inside! I just don't see how some of ya'll are still taking pictures outside! Especially when I can see snow on the ground... it gives me goose bumps just thinking about it. I think living in the south has made me a baby towards cold weather. I think its freezing when its 50 degrees out. But really it was freezing last night, which meant my husband left all the water in the house dripping so it wouldn't freeze out pipes. Add that sound to me not being able to stop coughing and it was a long night!

So I feel so behind! I have seen several people on their last outfit and its making me jealous!

Ok So this outfit I have thought about wearing since we started the remix and it took me 11 outfits to get up the courage. That is because this skirt is actually a shirt! I'm such a rebel I know! The stripped shirt (er skirt) has buttons down the back so it made it easier to wear. Overall I'm pretty excited about this one!
This sweater is so comfy! What makes it even more comfy is the fact that it was only $4! I love winter clearance racks in the middle of the summer. This sweater is so big it might have to be worn for Christmas... add a pair of stretchy pants and I'm ready for all the food!

This Shirt was a Christmas gift from my Sister last year. Since there are 6 sisters we started pulling names several years back so we just buy for one. My littlest sister is the easiest to buy for. She's 11 and knows how to use email. She's not one of those people who you ask what they want for Christmas and she says "I don't know" Oh no she pulls out a list. For her birthday I asked her to email me some things that she wanted. She emailed me 2 things (which I got because she's the baby) but they both had links where I could but them and her size and what color. She's spoiled rotten to the core but hey I don't think anyone would have it any other way!

8, 9, and 10

You know those days where it rains and rains and you wish more than anything that you could just be at home snuggled up on the couch with your puppy some comfort food and Lifetime TV? Well that was today. No really it rained and rained and I got to spend the day on the couch with my puppy, comfort food and Lifetime!

So your getting three outfits today and no complaining that one outfit is pretty much the same!
The 9th and 10th outfits are my day to night outfits. I always see magazines take a look from day to night and so I thought I would give it a try. I just traded in my flat boots for a pair of heels, a sparkle belt (that you might not be able to see in these pictures), smokey eyes, and a super easy updo!
I love both these looks.

This is my snuggle puppy (Betsie) and these are my bright yellow walls.

Cheater, Cheater, Pumpkin Eater

I swore that I wasn't going to let you all in on my secret but guys I lied! I am ashamed to announce that I have cheated on the 30 for 30 challenge... It hurts my heart it really does but let me try and talk my way out of this OK?! Here's the deal. I have never been to Disney World. Let me let that sink in. I am 24 and NEVER been to Disney World. I didn't think it was that big of a deal either. Actually it never really bothered me because I really didn't know what I was missing. HOWEVER! Three years ago I went with my Husbands family and after only 3 hours in the park I had to come back home because I was extremely sick! I was so close I could taste it, and then it was ripped out of my hands!! (am I getting any sympathy here?) I  tell you all that to say this: I have been planning what I was going to wear inside the park since we found out we were going, which was several months before the challenge. So there, yes I cheated but hopefully I get a few points for confessing! Here are a few pictures from our vacation! Happy Monday!
